Earlier this year, American Oversight filed a lawsuit in Louisiana to uncover the truth behind the state’s sudden withdrawal from ERIC — the Electronic Registration Information Center — a nonprofit group founded in 2012 by a bipartisan group of state election officials to maintain more accurate voter rolls and detect possible double voting. ERIC also helps states reach out to eligible but unregistered individuals with information on how to register to vote.

ERIC has recently been at the center of baseless right-wing conspiracy theories regarding the organization’s funding and mission. Louisiana was the first state to pull out of ERIC, followed by eight other conservative-led states — all with no viable alternative for maintaining voter rolls and identifying eligible but unregistered voters. American Oversight is working to uncover the motivations behind withdrawal from ERIC and the risks for election administration.

DONATE TO AMERICAN OVERSIGHT TODAY ([link removed])
Records obtained through our litigation and broader investigation show the conspiracy theories are the tip of the iceberg and that this coordinated effort led by a network of election deniers to dismantle ERIC is yet another ill-advised scheme that undermines democracy and the integrity of our elections.

For Giving Tuesday, American Oversight is seeking additional support for our ongoing investigation of state withdrawals from ERIC and the anti-democracy network behind the movement. By donating today, your gift can go even further, and will be matched 1:1. ([link removed])

HELP AMERICAN OVERSIGHT EXPOSE ANTI-VOTING ACTIVISM ([link removed])
As the 2024 election approaches, anti-democratic actors are seeking new ways to block many eligible Americans from casting their votes, prevent all votes from being counted, and diminish confidence in electoral outcomes. With your help, American Oversight will continue filing lawsuits to counter these extremists and ensure the public has access to the information it’s entitled to.

Thank you for considering American Oversight for a donation on Giving Tuesday ([link removed]) . As a nonprofit organization, none of our work would be possible without support from people like you.
