Hi John,
It’s Big Give week 2023: your annual opportunity to DOUBLE your donation in the Christmas Challenge. We have just 7 days to raise £30,000 for our project supporting teenage mothers in Kenya.
Our generous major donor and corporate partners will be matching your donations up to £30,000. So that's a whopping £60,000 we could raise for training and activities for teenage mothers run by our partner the Polycom Developent Project in Kenya.
Let's make it happen, John! Get our Big Give week 2023 off to a flying start by contributing on day one. Chip in now, it only takes a minute. ([link removed])

In Kenya, 31% of 19-year-old girls are mothers(1). It’s common for young mothers to fall out of education and employment. Without the means to earn a stable income, they must rely on others for financial security. This can leave young mothers vulnerable to physical and sexual violence at home or in exploitative work environments.
Our grassroots partner, Polycom, offers a whole host of services that teenage mothers can access to regain control of their lives. Whether it’s counselling, mentorship on sexual health rights, grants to continue education, or gaining vocational skills - teenage mums come to Polycom when it feels like every other door is shutting in their face.
When COVID hit and schools closed, many young women dropped out of sight. And when the schools reopened, they didn’t return. But Polycom was there. They went out to find and mentor missing girls.
As Terry, a mentor with Polycom says,
“[girls] were living in difficult circumstances, either pregnant or with young babies, so we started a mentorship programme with the aim of restoring dignity to the young girls, to help them regain their confidence and give them hope.”
Polycom operate in the Kibera informal settlement outside Nairobi, believed to be the largest informal settlement in Africa. It’s a difficult place to grow up, particularly for children raising children themselves.
By giving today, and helping to expand Polycom’s activities, you’ll be supporting young mothers who face an uphill battle to live safely and thrive.
The Big Give only happens once a year - this is your chance to double the impact you have. Donate today and let’s expand these vital training programmes for teenage mothers in Kenya. ([link removed])
