Today is Giving Tuesday! In honour of this official kick-off for the giving season, donors can double their impact today only. Lucien Beauchemin, a generous donor living with Parkinson's, is matching all donations made before midnight, to a maximum of $45,000!
Dear John,
I'm the type of person who doesn't really dwell on the past. I try to live day to day, enjoying every moment that I can. This philosophy has made a huge difference in how I approach life with Parkinson's.
I wanted to play a role in the pursuit of new Parkinson's treatments, so I became active in raising money for Parkinson Canada by organizing a community run and then a golf tournament. That's why Giving Tuesday is such a big deal for me. Can you imagine how much we could raise together today? Especially with all donations being matched dollar for dollar until midnight tonight. It would mean a lot to count you as a fellow supporter, John so please give now while your donation will go twice as far.

Parkinson's hasn't been easy, of course. About five years ago, my legs started to freeze up when I walked. Balance became a problem, too as falls became more frequent, so I started to wear knee pads. I have embraced these adaptations because they mean it's still possible to live on my terms. My cane is another adaptation putting my carpentry skills to good use, I added a piece of wood to the bottom of it to help me get moving.
That's the thing about Parkinson's. It is challenging in so many ways, but it is still possible to find hope. To set goals to work towards. To create your own story rather than let things happen to you.
Today on Giving Tuesday, John, I'm asking you to give generously to Parkinson Canada so that others can create their own stories, too. Remember, today is your only chance to have your gift doubled so please make sure to donate before midnight. ([link removed] )
From one supporter of Parkinson Canada to another, thank you from me and my family.
Sincerely,
Rudy Erfle
