Nottingham a world leader on climate action

Nottingham

Nottingham has been recognised for the third consecutive year as one of 119 cities around the world that is taking bold leadership on climate action by environmental non-profit organisation CDP.??

Receiving ?A List? status from CDP recognises Nottingham?s progress in building momentum to tackle the climate crisis, both in reducing emissions and building resilience to the impacts of climate change in our communities.?

Recent successes in Nottingham?s efforts to reduce carbon emissions include:?

* Retrofitting nearly 1,000 homes in Nottingham with energy-efficiency measures through the Greener HousiNG initiative?
* Planting more than 36,500 trees [ [link removed] ] in the past three years?
* Supporting residents to live more sustainably with the Green Rewards app [ [link removed] ]?
* Incentivising businesses in the city to reduce emissions through schemes such as the Workplace Travel Grant [ [link removed] ] and UK Shared Prosperity Fund [ [link removed] ]?

?

We need everyone to get involved to support our ambition for Nottingham to be a carbon-neutral city by 2028. Residents can sign up to the Green Rewards app [ [link removed] ] where you can win prizes for reducing your carbon footprint. If you want to make a difference through your workplace, take a look at the We Support CN28 campaign [ [link removed] ].?

Road Safety Week: 19-25 November

road safety week

Brake the Road Safety Charity [ [link removed] ] is this week sharing new information about how speeding is getting worse on our roads. One-in-four fatal crashes involve speeding and speed-related deaths are up 20 per cent in the past year.??

It's never worth risking lives to get somewhere a little faster - always stick to the speed limit or below if the conditions warrant it.?
