Dear John,

As the founder of VoteRiders, I am grateful for YOU because your support forms the foundation of all our success on behalf of voters and our democracy.

Because of YOU, we are able to help voters secure an ID and with it, their most foundational right in our country: the freedom to vote.

In recent years, we’ve seen an explosion in voter ID laws. New and stricter voter ID laws have greatly expanded these widespread barriers for eligible voters. The ever-changing landscape of voter ID laws also creates confusion for voters who will often stay home instead of risk being turned away, shamed, or intimidated for not having the correct form of ID at the polls. In response, VoteRiders scaled up our work this year to reach millions of voters with accurate information and free, one-on-one help.

On this day of reflection and gratitude, I am deeply thankful for the thousands of volunteers, partners, supporters, and donors who make our critical work possible.

Just look at all that we’ve accomplished together so far in 2023 and in preparation for the 2024 election:
*535,917 wallet-sized Voter ID Information Cards distributed
*4.2 million at-risk voters contacted by letter, phone, or text
*4,973 voters individually assisted by VoteRiders staff or volunteers at a Voter ID Clinic
*4,175 voters assisted through our Helpline and Chatbot

Voter ID laws undermine and distort our democracy. By creating complicated and expensive barriers to voting, these unnecessary requirements block millions of voters from participating in the democratic process. The result: our country is less representative and more divided.

But together, we’re not going to sit back and watch that happen! I am so grateful that you stand up for an equitable, inclusive, and representative democracy that includes all of us — and for your invaluable participation to ensure that all eligible voters can make their voices heard.
