[Join us for International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day on Saturday, November 18, 2023]([link removed])

In case you missed [International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day]([link removed]) this past Saturday, you can still tune into our inspiring and impactful live events!

AFSP also observes Día de Esperanza, or Day of Hope, which takes place just one day before Survivor Day on November 17, and offers support specifically for Hispanic and Latinx communities that have been affected by suicide loss.

Survivor Day Live took place this past Saturday, November 18, and you can watch the recorded event on [Facebook]([link removed]) or [YouTube]([link removed]). The event features a special screening of the AFSP-produced documentary, Healing Together: Culture, Community and Suicide Loss, which explores how three families navigated the loss of their loved ones. Following the screening is a panel discussion with several loss survivors who explore their experiences and what set them on a pathway toward healing.

Additionally, Día de Esperanza (Day of Hope) took place this past Friday, November 19, and the recording can be watched on [Facebook]([link removed]) and [YouTube]([link removed]). This special event includes a panel discussion among three survivors of suicide loss, each with a powerful perspective on mental health and suicide prevention in Hispanic and Latinx culture. The conversation considers how these communities face specific challenges –– such as stigma surrounding suicide, and the impact of cultural beliefs on understanding around mental health –– and also explores strategies for overcoming those challenges by encouraging open and honest dialogue. Día de Esperanza is a unique opportunity for people in Hispanic and Latinx communities who have been affected by suicide loss to find connection, understanding, and hope through shared cultural experience.

We hope you'll watch these two powerful events, and join us in connecting with a community of people who understand.
