Dear John,
Our democracy is stronger when we stand together and become the leaders our communities need. This year’s Election Day victories are proof of that.
NALpistas and bold leaders in our Elected Officials Network made history all across the country. [[link removed]] Just look at St. Louis Park Mayor-elect Nadia Mohamed [[link removed]] , who became the first Somali American to win a general election for mayor. In Massachusetts, Natasha Megie-Maddrey [[link removed]] won her election to Lynn City Council, becoming the first Afro Latina to serve her community on the council. And in Washington state, Han Tran [[link removed]] became the only Asian American elected to the Northshore District School Board. They now join the impressive ranks of our other 215 alumni serving in elected and appointed offices!
