Liz Willen Dear reader,

Closing schools and shutting down college campuses has become a coronavirus reality in many parts of the country, leading to enormous anxiety and uncertainty. There are few upsides, but glimmers of humanity help: A Miami educator describes a new opportunity ([link removed]) for teaching “grace and empathy.”

There are also opportunities for innovation, such as a virtual sports day ([link removed]) in one Hong Kong school, along with growing concerns about how well online learning will work, especially for the littlest learners ([link removed]) . We welcome your stories, and also hope you will spend time listening to the voices of college students who are going public with their struggles and triumphs. ([link removed])
