Liz WillenDear reader,

Closing schools and cancelling college classes has become a coronavirus reality in many parts of the country, leading to enormous anxiety and uncertainty. There are few upsides, but glimmers of humanity help: A Miami educator describes a new opportunity for teaching “grace and empathy.”

There are also opportunities for innovation, such as a virtual sports day in one Hong Kong school, along with growing concerns about how well online learning will work, especially for the littlest learners. We welcome your stories, and also hope you will spend time listening to the voices of college students who are going public with their struggles and triumphs.
