Friend, California made history when we implemented universal voter registration, helping drive the record-breaking voter turnout we saw in 2022.
Across the country, however, nearly one third of eligible Americans remain unregistered to vote. We know this disparity impacts BIPOC communities, low-income people, and young adults at a vastly disproportionate rate.
Automatic voter registration doesn’t just dismantle the systemic barriers that keep people disenfranchised — it helps create active, lifelong participants in our democracy by engaging young people in the electoral process as soon as they are eligible.
23 states have adopted automatic voter registration laws — a major win for supporters of democracy — but that means we still need wins in more than half the country.
That’s why we need your help to urge state leaders across the U.S. to enact automatic voter registration policies.
Please sign onto our digital petition urging state leaders to reduce barriers to voting and implement automatic voter registration, just like we’ve done here in California → [link removed]
Taking on the climate crisis means building a strong coalition of dedicated environmental voters, like you, across the entire country.
Passing universal voter registration is a vital stepping stone in this process — an opportunity to expand democratic participation to the people most impacted by the climate crisis.
Can you spare just a minute to help us build the movement for a better future by signing our petition?
