Florida's Board of Governors (BOG) is comprised of seventeen members, fourteen of whom are appointed by the Florida Governor. The Board oversees the operation and management of the Florida public university system’s twelve institutions. Early November, the BOG proposed several alarming rules that target diversity programs and sociology classes.

Legislative Session Preview
Florida's 2024 Legislative Session begins on January 9, 2024 and lawmakers are already back in Tallahassee for Interim Committee Meetings.
While we have not seen any events offered by our own State Senator Grall or Representative Brackett, lucky for us, Rep. Anna V. Eskamani is hosting her annual pre-session briefing! From bills being filed to committee meetings, debate, votes, and passing the budget, she'll unpack what you can expect, how to follow along, and how to make sure your voices are heard.

After the Lewiston Maine assault weapon mass shooting, the newly established White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention initiated an all of government response by helping to establish housing services and mental health support for the traumatized community. Last week, our Congressman Bill Posey voted to DEFUND the office. Call him at (202) 225-3671 and ask why Bill Posey does not support gun violence survivors.
