A Cornell University student was arrested and charged with making threats against Jewish students on the campus, as new ADL data revealed a concerning and sharp increase in antisemitic incidents at universities across the country. ADL&rsquo;s CEO and other Jewish leaders attended a White House meeting with Second Gentleman Douglas Emhoff and Deputy Education Secretary Cindy Marten to discuss rising antisemitic incidents on campus and in K-12 schools. Following up on the release of the annual FBI report on hate crimes, Bureau Director Christopher Wray warned members of Congress that antisemitism is reaching historic levels.

Cornell Student Arrested After Antisemitic Threats Made Against Jewish Campus Community

&ldquo;A 21-year-old Cornell University student was arrested on Tuesday for posting threats online against Jewish students at the university over the weekend, the Department of Justice said. Patrick Dai, a junior at Cornell University who is originally from Pittsford, New York, was arrested on a "federal criminal complaint charging him with posting threats to kill or injure another using interstate communications," according to the Justice Department. If convicted, Dai faces up to five years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000 and a term of supervised release of up to 3 years.&rdquo; USA Today:

Jewish Leaders to Biden Officials: &lsquo;We&rsquo;ve Never Seen Anything Like This Ever&rsquo;

&ldquo;Several prominent Jewish organizations, including the Anti-Defamation League and the American Jewish Committee, gave Biden administration officials recommendations for increasing safety at schools after a spike in antisemitism on college campuses. During a closed-press meeting on Monday, a dozen Jewish leaders met in Education Secretary Miguel Cardona&rsquo;s Washington office to discuss steps the Biden administration is taking to counter antisemitism within K-12 and higher education communities.
