The legal fight for the preservation of women’s spaces moves forward in Tenth Circuit
Friend,
Though it feels like it just started, summer is beginning to wrap up and students will soon arrive back on their college campuses. Young women hoping to find community and build lifelong friendships will have the opportunity to dive right into sorority rush – just like Gina Stanley ([link removed]) from Oklahoma, who grew up with two brothers and no sisters.

“Being in a sorority was a chance to understand what it’s like to share space with fellow young women who bring a completely different perspective and vibe than boys. A chance to have female support and feel uplifted. A chance to develop into the young woman who thrives with the love and uniquely female support of sisters,” Stanley shared with IWF through our newly launched Sorority Stories drive.

But, access to authentic sisterhood is at stake. Radical efforts to erase women and kowtow to “inclusivity” by integrating men who identify as women into sororities is a bonafide injustice on our right to single-sex spaces, privacy, safety, and equal opportunities. All 26 Panhellenic organizations have quietly tried to change the meaning of ‘woman’ and ‘women,’ leaving all sororities open to vulnerability.

As Stanley put it, “changing with cultural tides is not always the best option. Sororities and the women in them deserve to have that affirming space without men in the mix. That’s what fraternities are for.”

Are you a sorority woman? Do you have loved ones who have benefitted from their sorority sisterhood? If you want sororities to remain vibrantly female-only, I urge you to submit your story to our drive.

Friend, we need you to join us in standing up for sisterhood – whether you’re currently in a sorority as a member or in leadership, or an alumna who is ready to speak out, or know someone who is!
Sincerely,
Andrea Mew
