Now that Super Tuesday is over, there are essentially two candidates vying for the Democratic nomination. Let's get out the vote to put Bernie over

MoCo DSA this week
Comrades:

Local DSA members have been working hard to get out the vote for Bernie Sanders. Many DSAers traveled to South Carolina and Virginia to canvass door-to-door over the last month.

And while Super Tuesday results may not have been what we hoped, it is essentially a two-person race now and there are still tons of delegates out there to win! The only way to win is by getting out the vote, and we can all help, no matter where we live. Please help by making phone calls or texts for Bernie. It's super easy to do - so please sign up and make those calls and texts ([link removed]) !

Did you know there is a YDSA chapter at Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda? It's true - and our young comrades held a "Berning Man" concert fundraiser for Bernie last weekend that raised $2,000!

Also, we finally have a branch website! It's: www.DSAMoCo.org ([link removed]) . Have ideas/suggestions for our digital presence? Please send them on to us!

Upcoming events:
Saturday, March 7 from 3-6 pm: DSA House Party for Mckayla Wilkes in Lanham
Mckayla Wilkes ([link removed]) - endorsed by DSA - is a DSA member and incredible candidate who's running against corporate Dem. Steny Hoyer in Maryland's District 5. Our comrades in Prince George's County are inviting us to join them at a house party for her - we should support this terrific Maryland candidate! More details are here ([link removed]) .

Wednesday, March 11: "Battleship Potemkin" film screening in DC
Our chapter's DSA for Bernie working group is showing the Sergei Eisenstein classic, "Battleship Potemkin" (1925). It's a revolutionary film that's not to be missed! Details here ([link removed]) .

Tuesday, March 17: DC Labor Chorus Concert in Takoma Park
The DC Labor Chorus is celebrating Women's History Month with a free concert at the Takoma Busboys & Poets from 6-8 pm. Details here ([link removed]) .

In Jacobin: "Olof Palme was an internationalist hero ([link removed]) " by Anton Osgard and William Westgard-Cruice. "From South Africa’s ANC to Chilean socialists, in the 1970s, liberation movements around the world had few greater allies than Swedish prime minister Olof Palme. He used high office to speak out for the oppressed abroad — and to build an internationalist movement in his homeland."

In VICE: "Graduate student strikes are spreading in California ([link removed]) " by Lauren Kaori Gurley. "Inspired by UC Santa Cruz, grad students at UC Santa Barbara are the latest to go on a 'wildcat' strike, in a wave of labor unrest sweeping California's public universities."

"In a struggle between oligarchy and democracy, something must give ([link removed]) " by Michael Hudson. "It’s obvious that what really is at issue is the future of the Democrat Party. Can the myth that the Democrats represent the working/middle class survive? Or, will the Donor Class trump the voting class?"
