# [#]While chaos continues in the House, I want to assure you that I remain committed to protecting the health and well-being of San Diego families, and our environment. As part of that commitment, I have been hard at work to deliver solutions to the ongoing crisis in the Tijuana River Valley (TRV).
Just recently, the California Coastal Commission visited our region to see firsthand the impacts of the sewage pollution in the TRV. From beach closures to the local economy, public health, coastal ecosystems, and more, the damages are clear.
The Commission concluded what my colleagues and I have been calling for: an emergency declaration and swift allocation of funds to clean up this crisis are absolutely necessary. We can’t wait any longer.
