While chaos continues in the House, I want to assure you that I remain committed to protecting the health and well-being of San Diego families, and our environment. As part of that commitment, I have been hard at work to deliver solutions to the ongoing crisis in the Tijuana River Valley (TRV).
Just recently, the California Coastal Commission visited our region to see firsthand the impacts of the sewage pollution in the TRV. From beach closures to the local economy, public health, coastal ecosystems, and more, the damages are clear.
The Commission concluded what my colleagues and I have been calling for: an emergency declaration and swift allocation of funds to clean up this crisis are absolutely necessary. We can’t wait any longer.
We need your help to amplify this urgent message: Demand immediate federal action to protect public and environmental health →
This is nothing short of a public health and environmental catastrophe, and it must come to an end.
I am committed to doing everything in my power to find the funds we need to solve this urgent crisis. While the emergency funds we’ve secured will help alleviate immediate damages, we still need additional, long-term measures to end this crisis once and for all.
Stand with me in calling for clean water, clean beaches, and a healthy environment for all San Diegans:
– Scott
