It’s been 21 days since Republicans kicked out their Speaker. Let’s take a
look back.

The GOP’s first pick was Steve Scalise, who withdrew after 24 hours
because the self-described ‘David Duke without the baggage’ didn’t have
the support to win.

The next choice for Speaker was Jim Jordan, a 2020 election denier and
Trump cheerleader, who lost 3 rounds of votes on the House floor because
colleagues were turned off by the death threats they were getting from his
supporters.

This afternoon, Tom Emmer became the nominee — even though far-right
extremists don’t like him for supporting gay marriage and certifying
Biden’s election.

About 4 hours later, Emmer dropped out. Chaos.

[ [link removed] ]The ‘far left’ and the ‘far right’ are often compared, but while MAGA
Republicans dismantle their party with extremism, Alexandria is fighting
for universal healthcare, a $15 minimum wage and other just policies. Will

While Republicans waste precious time wrangling their extremist caucus,
all legislation, all votes, and all of the work Congress should be doing
to avoid another shutdown is suspended.

The government is on course to run out of funding in a month, and a deadly
conflict is raging in Israel and Palestine. Republicans' chaotic
leadership is dangerous.

We need to send Republicans a message that our movement is stronger than
their extremism.
