Learn more about what my office has been up to this week Dear john, I hope that you and your family remain healthy and safe. This was another incredibly difficult week in Washington, and I wanted to provide you an update on my legislative and local work. This week, I was very proud to work with a bipartisan group of colleagues in the House and Senate in introducing the Adult Education Workforce Opportunity and Reskilling for Knowledge and Success (WORKS) Act. At current funding levels, adult education programs serve about 1.1 million people, while there are 43 million adults who stand to benefit from literacy programs and 62.7 million in need of numeracy programs. With so many adults at low literacy and numeracy rates, it is crucial that we provide them an option to gain the skills they need to succeed. This bipartisan bill would support American workers and expand economic opportunity and mobility for millions by investing in adult education. To learn more, read this press release from my office. This is the final call for applications to my next Vietnam War Pinning Ceremony!
