Shred and recycle confidential material. Pioneer Secure Shred staff collects and secures material into a locking security container and transports it directly to the mobile shredding vehicle.

Get items fixed or mended for free and learn useful repair skills! Volunteers help you figure out what's wrong and fix your broken items. Clinics build community and reduce the amount of stuff thrown in the trash.

Oct. 28: National Prescription Drug Takeback Day

Proper disposal of unused medication is important not only to prevent abuse, but to protect the environment.

Although there are no city offices up for election this year, there will be three different elections within 30 days for most Mendota Heights residents:

*1. Tuesday, Nov. 7*, voters in School District 197 are asked to go to the polls and elect four school board members and answer two referendum questions. For information on where to vote, visit *isd197.org/vote2023 [ [link removed] ]*

*2. Thursday, Nov. 16*, voters in Minnesota House District 52B (Mendota Heights voting precincts 2, 3, 4, and 5) are asked to go to the polls for a Special Election Primary to select candidates for the 2023 Special Election. To find your voting precinct, visit *pollfinder.sos.state.mn.us [ [link removed] ]*. Absentee/early voting for the Primary begins Nov. 8, at City Hall

3.?*Tuesday, Dec. 5*, voters in Mendota Heights voting precincts 2, 3, 4, and 5 are asked to go to the polls for a Special Election to fill a vacancy in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Absentee/early voting for the Special Election begins Nov. 27, at City Hall.

Come to this free class to learn basic sewing skills such as sewing a button, using pins, snaps and hooks, a simple hem and patching from local seamstresses Rachel Lind and Lois Larsen. Feel free to bring any of your own supplies or fabric scraps you want to practice with. The first 10 people to register will receive a small sewing kit to use and keep! This class is free, but registration is required.
