I’m the son of leaders in the farmworkers’ movement and a child of California’s Filipino American community, growing up as it joined forces with our LGBTQI+, Latino, and Black allies during the watershed 1977 International Hotel protests.
Seeing how those without power and wealth can be cheated by those with both lit a fire for justice that still burns in me today.
