I’m the son of leaders in the farmworkers’ movement and a child of California’s Filipino American community, growing up as it joined forces with our LGBTQI+, Latino, and Black allies during the watershed 1977 International Hotel protests.
Seeing how those without power and wealth can be cheated by those with both lit a fire for justice that still burns in me today.
That’s why I’m reaching out: Right now, well-funded MAGA Republicans are working to roll back the progress I’ve spent my career fighting for – in workers’ rights, LGBTQI+ rights, gun safety, and more.
California has long been a leader in the fight for progress, and we’re not going to stop now. Together, we will protect the values and rights we hold dear today and every day, and we will fight to advance these rights across the country.
