At 27 years old, I ran for office for the first time. Since part of my
platform was opposition to the Iraq War, I could feel the party
establishment closing down around me — because I dared to stand for
progressive ideals against a Democratic incumbent.

I can’t help but feel some of those same things right now. As the
establishment wing of the party closes ranks around Joe Biden, all to
defeat our progressive movement, that erasure from almost two decades ago
feels fresh.

As voters cast their ballots in the biggest contest of this primary, your

people, working-class folks, people of color, immigrants, and so many
