need to answer for this savagery. The U.S. can’t continue to bankroll the
vicious atrocities we’re seeing play out right now. We have tiptoed around Iran
for too long, and our concessions have done nothing to curb their aggression.



This is the last dadgum straw.



I’m standing shoulder-to-shoulder with 100+ of my colleagues to stop the
release of$6 billion in frozen funds

that the Biden administration recently made available to Iran. There is no
doubt that this money would be used to fill in the gaps for Iran as they
sponsor terror attacks on Israel—and we can’t allow that to happen.



It is crucial that we remain a supportive and united front for our allies in
the Middle East, and this is exactly what’s happening on Capitol Hill right

from some folks on the other side of the aisle, Republicans are more serious
than ever about coming together to rally around our Israeli friends. We will
continue to defend them until this thing is through, no matter how long it

A group from First Baptist Church in Knoxville
<[link removed]>
that was on a spiritual pilgrimage to Israel is trying to make it back to
Tennessee. Part of the group traveled to Jordan to leave in the next few days
and others will fly out of Tel Aviv to an airport where a U.S. carrier can
bring them back.



My staff and I are working to ensure my constituents that are in Israel are
able to safely evacuate. Unfortunately, for security and privacy reasons, my
office can’t release further details. I know I speak for all of us when I say
we are praying for their safe return home while also mourning the 1,000+ Jewish
lives lost in this horrific conflict.



I unequivocally stand with the Jewish people, and my heart goes out to the
community we have right here in Knoxville. The Knoxville Jewish Alliance held a
prayer rally

this week for people to join together and bond over scripture and songs. The
group is also gathering donations such as sleeping bags, flashlights, and
clothes to send to Israel. Letters for soldiers are another great way to show
support for our friends in Israel and reiterate that we stand in solidarity
with them.
