Dear John,
I don’t have to tell you—the situation is urgent.
Across the country, state legislatures are implementing extreme abortion bans, passing discriminatory laws to obstruct voting rights and forcing through anti-LGBTQIA+ legislation at alarming rates.
Our opponents are emboldened like never before, but this is not the time to give up.
We need our community of feminists more than ever right now. And while it’s tempting to feel a bit defeated by all the threats, we need to do just the opposite. We need to rally together and use our power to meet these challenges head-on.
NOW, more than ever, it’s the time for grassroots action!
That’s why I’m reaching out to you today with this urgent request.
Will you help us stay in the thick of all these important fights for our most basic rights and freedoms by making a special contribution to NOW today?
This is a critical time for NOW, with escalating numbers of attacks on reproductive justice, gender justice and voting rights that require our immediate action.
We’ve also seen an alarming increase in policies that discriminate against our LGBTQIA+ community, especially transgender youth, and attacks on the right to vote for those who desperately need a voice at the table, including women and communities of color.
But you and I know that NOW has the power of grassroots activism and a community of feminists who are more than up to the task of beating back the current threats and advancing equality! When I ask our community to rally together in support of NOW’s agenda, it’s because I know how strong we can be—when we have the resources we need.
You are part of the generous community that is the backbone of our work, especially during challenging economic times. We know that women and families are currently navigating the effects of a difficult economic environment, and NOW is no different.
