Wisconsin Republicans Walk Back Efforts to Impeach Newly Elected State Supreme Court Justice Protasiewicz ([link removed])

Here are some recent updates.
* A federal judge denied ([link removed]) a request from Idaho officials to dismiss a lawsuit challenging new voter suppression laws that target students. Litigation will continue.

* Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos (R) and fellow Republicans indicated ([link removed]) that they would walk back the impeachment crusade against liberal state Supreme Court Justice Janet Protasiewicz — for now.

* The Ohio Ballot Board cleared ([link removed]) the way for groups to begin collecting signatures to get an independent redistricting commission measure on the 2024 ballot.

* Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares' (R) office sent ([link removed]) a cease and desist letter to a right-wing organization, warning that if the group continues to distribute false election materials to voters, they could face criminal penalties.

* California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) signed ([link removed]) a slate of election-related bills including one that mandates curbside voting at all in-person voting locations.

Here’s what to expect coming up tomorrow.
* In New York, there is a preliminary injunction hearing ([link removed]) in a lawsuit filed on behalf of the Republican National Committee challenging the state’s new mail-in voting law.
