You already know there’s a lot riding on this election. Not only is every seat in the state Senate and House of Delegates up for grabs, but there’s plenty of talk that our elections “are a bellwether for conservative policy nationwide” ( The Hill, September 18, 2023 ).
If the GOP dominates in this election, it is not a good sign for Virginia or for the rest of the country. There are lots of reasons for that, but the fate of reproductive freedom is a big one.
MAGA Republicans, like our opponent, are lying about their real intentions to have politicians interfere in our personal healthcare decisions and ban all abortions if they take power. Behind closed doors, they are planning to enact a total ban on all abortions if they take power , which could put pregnant people, doctors, and health care professionals in jail for utilizing this life saving procedure.
Danica believes in the freedom of every Virginian to make their own decisions about their bodies and their health. Having an abortion is a deeply personal healthcare decision that should stay between a patient and their healthcare provider .
This election could be the difference between protecting that personal freedom and seeing it obliterated for generations.
