Right now, 1 in 3 women of reproductive age -- plus trans and nonbinary people -- have lost nearly all access to abortion in their state. For those who can afford to travel, overcoming the burden and getting the care they need may be within reach.
But if you're already living paycheck to paycheck, and you suddenly need to take time off work, cover travel costs and child care, pay for the medical bills -- all in another state? That's too much of a burden. We must do better.
Until Tuesday, the public has a chance to share their thoughts on the proposed rule to implement the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA).
