Right now, 1 in 3 women of reproductive age — plus trans and nonbinary people — have lost
nearly all access to abortion in their state. For those who can afford to travel, overcoming the burden and getting the care they need may be within reach.
But if you're already living paycheck to paycheck, and you suddenly need to take time off work, cover travel costs and child care, pay for the medical bills — all in another state? That's too much of a burden. We must do better.
Until Tuesday, the public has a chance to share their thoughts on the proposed rule to implement the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA). Will you submit a comment to help ensure workers seeking reproductive health care are protected?
To protect jobs and financial security, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) proposed a rule to implement the PWFA. This rule would, among other things, ensure that employers are required to provide reasonable accommodations for employees seeking sexual and reproductive health care, including abortions.
It is past time for abortion to be recognized for what it is — essential health care that everyone should have access to. We need to protect workers so they can get the care they need without sacrificing their employment or income. That's one thing that this new proposed PWFA rule will do.

Our voices are powerful —
let's use them to show the Biden administration just how important the PWFA proposed rule is.
