Many people who vape nicotine think it helps them relax, when in fact it can have the opposite effect. To illustrate how vaping nicotine can intensify symptoms of depression and anxiety ([link removed]) and interfere with sleep, truth teamed up with actor and comedian Chris Parnell in its latest effort, “Toxic Therapy from Your Vape. ([link removed]) ”

One more week to apply for the Truth Initiative Tobacco/Vape-Free College Program ([link removed])

Since 2015, Truth Initiative has awarded funding to more than 220 colleges and universities to advocate for and implement a 100% tobacco/vape-free policy. To keep the momentum going, the Tobacco/Vape-Free College Program is offering grants of up to $20,000 to colleges and universities to support the adoption and implementation of a 100% tobacco/vape-free policy. To address the high rates of vaping, Truth Initiative is also offering grants of up to $10,000 to colleges and universities to strengthen their 100% smoke-free or tobacco-free policies by adding e-cigarettes. The deadline for applications is Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. Eastern time. Grantees will receive technical assistance through an in-person training, webinars and one-on-one consultations throughout the grant period.

Young people share how nicotine use affected their stress ([link removed])

Nicotine can play a role in intensifying feelings of stress, but many young people are unaware of this connection. In fact, according to a Truth Initiative survey, 4 in 5 young people who had vaped nicotine said they started as a way to lessen their feelings of stress, anxiety, or depression. In this article, young people who know the cycle of nicotine withdrawal from vaping firsthand share what it's like with truth.
