Haiti: Invisible consequences of a humanitarian crisis
Haiti's profound humanitarian needs are alarming. ICRC
Armed violence in Haiti has led to a deteriorating and multi-faceted humanitarian crisis.
Amid the violence and soaring inflation, people are struggling to get food and medicines. Nearly half of the population is facing acute hunger.
Thousands of people fleeing violence are now displaced and homeless. Meanwhile, people even fear leaving their homes to seek health care and other basic services.
Not that health facilities are doing any better. They are struggling to function normally due to lack of fuel, equipment, and personnel. Poor sanitation and lack of safe water supplies have led to thousands of cases of cholera and dozens of lives lost.
Humanitarian access is of the utmost importance.

Moldova: When the children dream of a better world
Children drawing their hearts out during a psychosocial support session for those who had fled the conflict in Ukraine. ICRC
In a bid to provide mental health support, an ICRC team in the Republic of Moldova organized psychosocial support sessions for local children and those who had fled the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.
Some children drew the happiest moments in their lives while others relived their saddest ones.
Some children envisioned their future selves while others just dreamed of returning home.
Some children wrote about their dreams while others penned their worst fears.
The wide range of emotions and concerns which came out from these psychosocial support sessions helped train volunteers to understand the factors impacting well-being among people affected by conflict.
