Armed violence in Haiti has led to a deteriorating and multi-faceted humanitarian crisis.
Amid the violence and soaring inflation, people are struggling to get food and medicines. Nearly half of the population is facing acute hunger.
Thousands of people fleeing violence are now displaced and homeless. Meanwhile, people even fear leaving their homes to seek health care and other basic services.
Not that health facilities are doing any better. They are struggling to function normally due to lack of fuel, equipment, and personnel. Poor sanitation and lack of safe water supplies have led to thousands of cases of cholera and dozens of lives lost.
Humanitarian access is of the utmost importance.
