Reminder: Exception allowing PCA provider agencies to bill for services provided by spouses and parents of minors ends in November [ [link removed] ]

* *Effective date:*?Nov. 12, 2023
* *Summary:* As mentioned in a May 12, 2023, eList announcement, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will end the exception that allowed DHS to pay PCA provider agencies for services provided by spouses and parents (including stepparents and legal guardians) of minors.

Survey to get feedback on positive support training resources [ [link removed] ]
* *Audience:*?Service providers and other interested parties
* *Survey closes:* Oct. 22, 2023
* *Summary:*?DHS wants feedback from service providers, including direct caregivers, about online positive supports training resources. The service provider survey is anonymous and will take about 10 to 15 minutes to finish. Feedback from the survey will help DHS prioritize topics for training content during the coming year.

Reminder: EW customized living services rate floor adjustments for disproportionate share facilities [ [link removed] ]
* *Audience:* Lead agencies, customized living providers and other interested parties
* *Application period:*?Sept. 1 to 30, 2023
* *Summary:*?The Minnesota Legislature approved a rate floor adjustment (or minimum daily rate) for customized living providers that are designated as disproportionate share facilities. Facilities must apply before Sept. 30, 2023, to get the designation and the adjustment. Currently designated disproportionate share facilities must apply each year because eligibility is determined annually.
DSD messages
Disability waiver case managers must complete the course "Supporting A Person's Move: A Case Manager's Role" [ [link removed] ]
* *Audience:*?Lead agency staff, contracted case management providers, case managers and other interested parties
* *Summary:* If a case manager works with a person on the Brain Injury, Community Alternative Care, Community Access for Disability Inclusion or Developmental Disabilities waiver, they must complete the course ?Supporting A Person?s Move: A Case Manager?s Role.? This course is an online, on-demand course for disability waiver case managers to guide them through their role and responsibilities in supporting a person to find a new home.

* *Summary:*?DHS seeks proposals from qualified responders to conduct a comprehensive licensure study for the Medical Assistance EIDBI benefit.

New grant program to help organizations support families of children with disabilities [ [link removed] ]
* *Audience:*?Minnesota family support organizations
* *Application deadline:* Nov. 8, 2023
* *Summary:*?Minnesota family support organizations can apply for a new grant to support programs for parents of children with disabilities. The focus of these grants is to support families of children with autism spectrum disorder in underserved communities.
