Hi John,
Recently, a high-profile conservative think tank penned a “battle plan” for the first 180 days of a future Republican presidency, which explicitly outlines a plan to reopen the Boundary Waters ecosystem to copper mining.

On the heels of this blatant attack on the future of Canoe County, President Biden declared September “National Wilderness Month” [1] and committed to protecting Wilderness areas for the next generations.
This type of commitment to Wild places is why we need to elect people who will join President Biden in valuing Wilderness areas and vow to protect the Boundary Waters permanently.
W hile we currently have a President on the side of Canoe County, there are, unfortunately active attacks that could undo all of the protections we’ve worked so hard to achieve in Congress. 2024 is right around the corner, and the fate of next year's election looms.
This is where the Boundary Waters Action Fund comes in. As a politically active organization committed to protecting the Boundary Waters permanently , we can use our time and resources to advocate for the election of people who will stand for the Boundary Waters over foreign mining corporations.
Why is PERMANENT protection of the Boundary Waters our goal? Because permanent protections can’t be reversed or undone by the whims of a future administration.

P.S. Don’t let anti-Wilderness cronies get a foothold. Make a gift to the Boundary Waters Action Fund so we can start this election season strong.
