Last week, Virginia’s General Assembly passed the budget bill for the year – completely scrapping the GOP’s planned $1 billion in tax cuts for ultra-wealthy individuals and big corporations.

What stopped the GOP? A Democratic-controlled Virginia Senate.

Instead, Democrats in the General Assembly fought to spend that money on public education, teacher and state employee raises, and mental health services throughout the Commonwealth.

If we want Democrats to keep fighting back against the GOP’s out-of-touch proposals, we need to give them the resources they need to expand their majority in the Virginia Senate and take back the House of Delegates.
