John,
We are in the midst of a massive affordability crisis.
Total debt for US households just passed $17 trillion—the highest it’s ever been. That includes $1.6 trillion in student loans; $1 trillion in credit card debt, with interest rates topping at 25%; and $195 billion in medical debt.
Household debt is preventing everyday folks from living a good life. It makes investing in the future—buying a home, raising a family, saving for retirement—feel out of reach for so many. That’s why we need bold action. We need Congress to cancel student debt up to $50,000 for working and middle-class Americans, eliminate medical debt, and cap credit card interest rates before we crater the economy.

Everyone in this country has a right to pursue their American Dream. Yet working- and middle-class families are barely scraping by, burdened by crushing household debt. It doesn’t have to be that way. Congress must prioritize debt forgiveness and put working Americans first.
Sign if you agree: Congress needs to take action to end the affordability crisis. [[link removed]]
