** Halfway to Election Day!
------------------------------------------------------------

Friends -

It’s been 167 days since I launched my campaign to be your next State Senator. With 170 days until the March primary, we are just about to cross the halfway point of this stage of the campaign.

Since we began this journey together, we have worked hard every day to meet with voters throughout the district, learning their concerns, and working with them to create a better future for all Californians. As I have traveled the district, I’ve heard about the need to build more quality housing, address longstanding economic inequality, protect our environment, increase access to quality education, and ensure we are building a just and equitable society.

I decided to run because I believe that our region and state need experienced leaders to do the hard work necessary to address the great challenges of our time. We need leaders who understand how to connect state policies and resources to our communities in ways that will have real impacts for real people.

Having spent 20 years as Mayor of West Sacramento, transforming our forgotten industrial town into a thriving entrepreneurial city, I know how to get things done. I know how to build a broad coalition that is capable of achieving big results. I also know how to be decisive, cut through the noise, and push hard when necessary.

As I reflect on how far we’ve come over these last 6 months, and how far we still have to go, I am more committed than ever to earning the support of the people in our region.

Sincerely,

Christopher Cabaldon

Candidate for State Senate District 3

** Education Leaders Continue to Rally Behind Our Campaign!
------------------------------------------------------------

I am thrilled to share some exciting new endorsements with you! Our campaign is surging forward with added momentum as we welcome a fresh wave of endorsements from this group of esteemed education leaders from across the district:
* Solano Community College Trustee Quinten Voyce
* Solano Community College Trustee Mike Martin (ret.)
* Woodland Unified School District Vice President Deborah Bautista Zavala
* Woodland Unified School District Trustee Bibiana Garcia
* Yolo County Superintendent of Schools Garth Lewis

I am deeply touched and honored by this endorsement. It reinforces our shared vision and commitment to ensuring our state is working around the clock to ensure every student has the opportunity to flourish.

Throughout my career, I have passionately advocated for enhancing access to quality education, a commitment that has been a cornerstone of my public service journey.

From my early days as the youngest Chief Consultant to the California State Assembly Higher Education Committee, I have worked tirelessly to craft policies that elevate educational outcomes and expand opportunities for students.

My dedication to education extends nationally, having been appointed by President Obama to the National College Promise Board, chaired by Dr. Jill Biden. In this role, I collaborated with a diverse group of leaders to transform the College Promise into a resounding success, initiating promise programs in over 400 locations nationwide, including many in California.

At the local level, I spearheaded the West Sacramento Home Run initiative, guaranteeing tuition-free college education for graduating high school seniors in our area. This initiative has not only garnered national recognition but has also fostered a nurturing environment for our children, from preschool to college, encouraging community service and fostering career pathways.

My journey also led me to serve as the Vice Chancellor of the California Community Colleges, where we secured unprecedented budget increases to enhance student success. Later, I had the privilege to work with the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education, promoting regional collaboration and innovative policies.

As we look forward to the journey ahead, I am eager to champion and expand these innovative programs in the State Senate, bringing a brighter future to our community and our state!

** How Exactly Did Silicon Valley Elites Buy So Much of Solano County?
------------------------------------------------------------

Over the last several months, I have written extensively about the large land acquisitions ([link removed]) that were purchased by a group of Silicon Valley elites known at first only as Flannery Associates.

As the veil has been lifted around who the owners of this group are, there has been a great deal of reporting about the group’s vision for this land ([link removed]) and the potential challenges it may pose ([link removed]) for our long-standing agricultural communities. Most recently, the San Francisco Chronicle released an interactive map explaining
([link removed]) just how these acquisitions came to pass.

As we continue to watch this project unfold, I am committed to continuing to keep you informed hoping to foster a dialogue grounded in facts and the legitimate concerns of our community.

Stay tuned for more updates.
