John,

I’m Congresswoman Doris Matsui, and I’m proud to represent California’s 7th Congressional District. As SEEC Co-Chair, I’m working hard in Congress to fight climate change, but what happened yesterday made me nervous.

Yesterday, Republicans in Congress voted on a bill limiting California’s ability to set our own vehicle emissions standards. These emissions standards would require that all new passenger vehicle sales will be zero-emission vehicles by 2035, which is expected to deliver $12 billion in public health benefits. It would also mean families would save $7,500 in consumer savings over the first 10 years of ownership. This is not only a positive for the health and financial well-being of our families, but also for our planet.

Republicans are hoping that you don’t notice – this bill has flown under the radar – because they know that people like you and me want to protect our right to breathe clean air and live on a safe planet for future generations.

So today, I hope you can join me in saying “NO” to the Republican agenda. I’m asking you to step up to help power my work strengthening regulations of polluters. Can you chip in to help support SEEC Members and the work we do in Congress? [[link removed]]

Chip in $10 » [[link removed]] Chip in more » [[link removed]]We know that clean vehicles are key to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and mitigating the effects of climate change. But with Republicans bent on preventing regulation, it’s absolutely critical that we have the resources we need to fight back.

I’m proud to be a SEEC Member, and I spend every day working to protect our environment. But I can’t do it alone, John. If you’re able, can you chip in to help power SEEC PAC’s work? Your donation will go straight to work supporting our SEEC Members in the fight for a better climate future. [[link removed]]

Thanks to your help in 2022, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 118th Congress while we continue fighting for a sustainable future.
