The NASN course, Guidelines-based Care for the School Nurse to Create Healthy Environments for Children with Asthma, first presented at Virtual NASN2022, now available in the NASN Learning Center, offers evidence-based guidance to inform the school nurse of exposure-reducing interventions and mitigation efforts to combat the potential effects of environmental asthma triggers.   Improving School Community & Student Health Take Action to Get Routine Vaccinations Back On-Schedule To support getting school-aged children back on track with their routine immunizations as a part of "Back to School," the CDC provides evidence-based strategies and tools to support catch-up efforts. You can access CDC resources on the Let's RISE webpage. The Public Health Foundation has also developed a new toolkit with actionable resources for education professionals. Trainings to Enhance School Health Services The AAP has developed learning bursts to aid school health staff and related health professionals in reviewing school health topics with their team. Today is International Overdose Awareness Day International Overdose Awareness Day (IOAD) is the world’s largest annual campaign to end overdose. The IOAD 2023 theme, “Recognizing those people who go unseen,” is about acknowledging people in our communities affected by overdose who might go unseen in the crisis.
