My parents and grandparents sacrificed a lot for me to get where I am today.
But I worry if we’re not very careful, my children and grandchildren are going to have to live out the same experiences me, my parents, and grandparents fought so hard to put behind us.

The Supreme Court’s conservative majority eliminated affirmative action for college admissions.
Donald Trump is on the ballot again despite four indictments, including ones that address his involvement in the scheme to overturn the 2020 election.

Ron DeSantis is running for president so he can take his Florida policies -- like whitewashing children’s education and teaching them slavery was “beneficial” for African Americans -- nationwide.
Republican lawmakers across the country are advancing bills that would make it harder to vote, harder to access reproductive care, harder for LGBTQ+ Americans to live freely and with dignity.

We can’t afford the return of Trump in the White House. We can’t afford someone like DeSantis at the helm either. And we can’t afford another two years of the GOP controlling the House agenda.
So when I say the stakes for 2024 are high, John, I really do mean it.
The next 14 months will determine whether we go backward or forward, and together, we can elect leaders who will ensure we stay on the right path forward.
