Against the wishes of the leaders of her own party and likely her own constituents.     John, Earlier this summer, after Lauren Boebert tried to force a vote on her baseless articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden, GOP leaders in the House sent the bill to committee instead of considering it on the floor—a move to buy more time and sideline the effort, if only temporarily. Many Republicans facing tight races in November have openly said they do not want to vote on this. A yes vote for impeaching Joe Biden, with no basis to do so, would likely be fatal to their reelection campaigns; a nay on impeachment would inflame the MAGA base they are beholden too and could cost them solid Republican votes, also imperiling reelection. Boebert has of course vowed to pursue a floor vote anyway. This week, she even said that she doesn't want a committee investigation and fact-finding process—she would rather have an "up and down [sic]" vote on her fact-free partisan bill: So not only is Lauren Boebert heedlessly pursuing her unjustified, baseless quest to have the GOP-controlled House vote on impeaching Joe Biden—she is insisting that it happen without any kind of fair process or transparency. Pretty on brand for her. The entire effort is reckless for Boebert, too, as it goes against the express wishes of the leaders of her own party, who can ultimately decide whether or how much support to send her way for her reelection bid against Adam Frisch. At some point, they may decide she is more trouble than she is worth and cut their losses, especially if polling continues showing her looking like an extraordinarily weak candidate. You can't really fake that kind of ineptitude; you either have it or you don't. And Boebert definitely has it. When Lauren Boebert tries to impeach President Biden for literally no reason, and claims that God told her to do it, our job gets a whole lot easier—we just need to continue raising the resources needed to capitalize on Boebert's missteps.
