Governor Walz appoints chief justice of Minnesota Supreme Court
On Wednesday, Governor Walz and Lieutenant Governor Flanagan announced that Justice Natalie Hudson will be making history as the first Black woman appointed to serve as chief justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court. They also announced the appointment of Karl Procaccini to serve as associate justice.?
*?Justice Hudson is one of our state?s most experienced jurists. She has a strong reputation as a leader and consensus builder,?* said Governor Walz. *?I know that she will use her decades of judicial experience and deep understanding of our justice system to lead the Judicial Branch with a steady hand and strong conviction. I am confident that she will advance a vision that promotes fairness and upholds the dignity of all Minnesotans.?*

Governor Walz, Governor Evers Request Federal Funds for Blatnik Bridge Project in Duluth

On Monday, Governor Walz and Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers announced their departments of transportation will seek over $1 billion in federal funding to rebuild the John A. Blatnik Bridge between Duluth, Minnesota, and Superior, Wisconsin.
*?The Blatnik Bridge connects the Twin Ports communities and economies of Duluth and Superior ? it provides a vital route for regional commerce, tourism, and emergency services,? *said Governor Walz. *?I?m proud to partner with Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers and our colleagues at the Wisconsin Department of Transportation to rebuild and modernize this critical piece of infrastructure as quickly as possible.?*

On Tuesday, Governor Walz joined bipartisan federal and state legislators and community leaders to break ground on the the final stretch of the Highway 610 completion project in Maple Grove.
