Switch to Income Based Dues!
Electoral meeting this Thursday!
Comrades and Friends,

In order to remain independent from grants and corporate money, DSA relies on support from our members to sustain our campaigns. As we gear up to battle the real estate lobby and corporate candidates for city council this Fall, we're asking members to consider signing up for income-based dues ([link removed]) . At the recent national convention, DSA delegates voted overwhelmingly to promote this option, which allows members to commit 1-3% of their income in dues. Please consider renewing your dues or switching to income based dues by going to dsausa.org/join, and selecting "Monthly Solidarity Income Based Dues" and providing the required information.
This Thursday, August 17th, 7 PM MT, over zoom, the Electoral Politics Working Group will be having a call to discuss the upcoming elections in the city of Santa Fe, for the purpose of drafting a voter guide for members and supporters. Join the meeting at the following link: [link removed]
Next Tuesday, August 22, 5 PM at the Santa Fe Community Convention Center, the city council will be holding a special meeting ([link removed].) to deliberate on proposed ballot initiatives for the November election, including the proposal by Councilmembers Renee Villarreal and Jamie Cassutt to enact a 3% tax on luxury homes sold for over $1 million, the revenue from which would be used to fund the Affordable Housing Trust Fund. Santa Fe DSA unanimously voted at our last general meeting to endorse this measure. Please consider showing up to the meeting to voice your support for this proposal.
