John, we’ve said from the start that the fights to protect abortion access and our democratic institutions go hand in hand. Just look at the special election in Ohio this week. 

Once again, Republican officials attempted to suppress the will of our communities. Their goal? To make it even harder to pass a constitutional amendment that would protect abortion statewide. Ohioans turned out and said NO. 

But the fight is not over. 

Our communities in Republican-controlled states are still facing constant attacks on their right to be heard. Republican politicians are using every trick in the book from restricting access to the ballot box to rigging election maps in their favor. In Florida, Gov. Ron DeSantis just suspended another democratically elected prosecutor ignoring the will of his own constituents! We urgently need to break their grip on the levers of power. That’s why Emerge’s work to empower Democratic women to lead is crucial to the direction of our democracy. 

We’re ramping up our programs to recruit and train more Democratic women to join this fight. But right now we’re falling $1,214 short of our midnight fundraising goal, and we need your help to close the gap. Our rights are on the ballot this year, John: Will you give $5 or more to Emerge now to empower Democratic women to run and win in every state?

With voters demanding protection of our essential rights, we need leaders who will listen – and those leaders are Emerge women. We have over 1,200 alums in office right now, pushing back against Republican officials' anti-democratic tactics. But we must expand our ranks by building a strong pipeline of Democratic women to ensure every voice is heard and every vote is fairly counted. That’s how we protect abortion access and defeat Republicans’ extremist agenda. 

But it takes a movement to transform politics, and we need you with us, John. We have the chance to add over 200 more Emerge women to our ranks in the November elections, and we can’t afford to slow down now.
