Last week, Donald Trump was handed his third indictment -- and for arguably his most serious charges yet. The indictment gets to the crux of Trump's role on January 6th, and whether he personally engaged in a conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election results and disrupt the transfer of power.

There have been a number of major developments since:

According to a new poll from ABC News/Ipsos, a staggering 65% of American adults are calling these charges "very serious." Notably, this poll shows an 11-point increase among independent voters who consider this indictment very serious compared to Trump's previous indictments.

Despite that, Trump loyalists in Congress like Marjorie Taylor Greene have threatened to cut funds from federal law enforcement -- including from special counsel Jack Smith who filed the criminal indictment charges.
