Can you name the biggest source of air pollution in the U.S.? Hint: it takes us where we need to go.
No surprise — it’s transportation! And now imagine a future where our roads are filled with affordable electric vehicles and we all have cleaner air…
New rules proposed by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will help make that vision a reality. As EDF’s Director of Transportation and Clean Air Policy, I’m thrilled that the proposed new limits on tailpipe pollution are a huge step in the right direction for the air we breathe and our health.
Less tailpipe pollution means healthier and longer lives for millions of people, especially communities that are more likely to be harmed by transportation-related pollution. That’s why our team of lawyers, scientists and advocates are working tirelessly to make the new tailpipe standards as robust as possible. And we will continue to defend them against attacks from those who benefit from keeping things the way they are.
You can join EDF in fighting for clean air by donating to our $2-for-$1 Summer Match campaign. Donate today and triple your impact to protect our health, create jobs and build a safer climate.

And the progress does not stop here. Together, we’re making huge leaps forward, including:
# Limiting Mercury Pollution: Thanks to the support of members like you, EDF fought to protect the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards under the previous administration and is working to ensure that the EPA’s proposed updates remain as strong as possible to protect our health.
# Cutting Cross-State Smog: The EPA finalized its Good Neighbor Plan to cut industrial pollution that travels across state lines and contributes to smog. Your support enables EDF to continue to advocate for these protections that will prevent premature deaths, asthma attacks, emergency room visits and more.
# Creating Good Paying Green Jobs: A new report from EDF and WSP consultants found that the electric vehicle boom has led to the announcement of more than 143,000 new U.S. jobs in the last eight years, with more than 40 percent of those announcements happening since passage of the Inflation Reduction Act.
# Launching Air Tracker: By pinpointing local pollution down to the neighborhood block, we’re giving policymakers, community groups and the private sector the tools they need to reduce pollution and hold polluters accountable. We couldn’t do it without dedicated, generous people like you!
We have solutions at hand, and you are the driving force we need to slash climate pollution that is harming our health and heating up our planet. Seize this $2-for-$1 match opportunity and donate today to triple your impact as we build a safer climate future:

P.S. To keep the momentum going towards our summer fundraising goal, we need to reach $300,000 by August 1. We’re $15,000 short of where we need to be, and your gift makes a big difference to ensure we unlock the maximum matching funds. Donate today and help push us over the top:
