13 House Democrats just introduced a J Street-backed resolution to “stand
with all Israelis seeking to defend liberal democracy.”

(3) Congress stands with all Israelis seeking to defend liberal democracy,
judicial review, and independent political institutions acting in a system
of checks and balances.

The more support we can gather for this House Resolution, the more impact

Introduced the same week Netanyahu passed the first plank of his
anti-democratic “reform” package – with his government promising to press
forward in the coming months – this resolution couldn’t come at a more
urgent time.

Congress must send a message to the pro-democracy movement that America
has their backs; to the Netanyahu government that their actions are
unacceptable; and to the White House that they should push back strongly
in defense of democratic institutions and values.
