John, MAGA Republicans will do anything to distract from the
reality of January 6th and Trump's incitement of the insurrection. The
first "Big Lie" incited the incident, and the second is the falsehood that
Donald Trump did nothing wrong. 
Currently, Trump loyalists in the House and Senate are encouraging the
efforts of Kevin McCarthy to open an impeachment inquiry into President
Biden while ALSO attempting to "expunge" the impeachments of former
President Trump.

Yes, you read that correctly. Congressional Republicans are playing
defense for Donald Trump while arguing that the impeachment of Joe Biden
is *not* political retribution. 

The Republican party has doubled down on its support and loyalty to the
former President, who incited an attempted coup on our nation. The
narrative has evolved from the day of January 6th and Republicans crying
out in support of law enforcement to the present day and their attacks on
the Justice Department. And now, they are attempting to clear Donald Trump
of any political wrongdoing and transfer the blame to Joe Biden.

Currently, their rhetoric is:

* "The American people know Democrats weaponized the power of
impeachment against President Donald Trump to advance their own
extreme political agenda," - Elise Stefanik (R-NY). 

* “It's clear that President Trump's impeachment was [nothing] more than
a witch hunt that needs to be expunged from our history. I'm proud to
work with Chairwoman Elise Stefanik on our joint resolutions to
correct the record and clear President Trump’s good name.”
- Rep.Marjorie Greene

* "The Biden family business IS President Biden’s career, and while
these dealings may have been given a pass in the past, this Congress
will fight for the accountability the American people demand and
deserve."
- Speaker Kevin McCarthy

* "I understand they’re working on that...they better do it.”
- Donald Trump

Trump loyalists have taken over the House. We need to organize and fight
for rural and working-class Americans and elect leaders who will take on
the real issues and deliver for Americans. A party beholden to a former
President cannot adequately represent its constituents.
