John, MAGA Republicans will do anything to distract from the reality of January 6th and Trump's incitement of the insurrection. The first "Big Lie" incited the incident, and the second is the falsehood that Donald Trump did nothing wrong.
Currently, Trump loyalists in the House and Senate are encouraging the efforts of Kevin McCarthy to open an impeachment inquiry into President Biden while ALSO attempting to "expunge" the impeachments of former President Trump.
Yes, you read that correctly. Congressional Republicans are playing defense for Donald Trump while arguing that the impeachment of Joe Biden is *not* political retribution.
The Republican party has doubled down on its support and loyalty to the former President, who incited an attempted coup on our nation. The narrative has evolved from the day of January 6th and Republicans crying out in support of law enforcement to the present day and their attacks on the Justice Department. And now, they are attempting to clear Donald Trump of any political wrongdoing and transfer the blame to Joe Biden.
