Folks,

When I ran for the Senate, I knew what it would mean to become the first
openly gay Senator in our nation's history.

I understood that this would be an extraordinary opportunity to make a
difference in people's lives — and that’s what I’ve been hard at work
doing every day since. But, despite all of the hard fought progress my
Democratic colleagues and I have made, attacks on LGBTQ+ rights are
rampant across the country.

Extreme Republicans are working overtime to institute a wave of
anti-LGBTQ+ legislation. The 2023 legislative session has seen hundreds of
bills designed to roll back LGBTQ+ rights, particularly targeting
transgender youth.

Even amidst unrelenting attacks, I refuse to be discouraged.

I ran for office in the first place to make a difference, and I won’t let
anti-LGTBQ+ Republicans turn back the clock — but I can’t do this without
you.
