Dear John,
Here in the Boundary Waters life is calm and serene. It’s paddling season, the lakes are perfect for swimming, and the mosquitoes are starting to ease up. Folks are busy enjoying America’s favorite Wilderness.
Meanwhile, it has been a busy summer for our legal teams at Save the Boundary Waters - last week, we updated you on our state lawsuit, and now we have an update on our federal lawsuit, in which Twin Metals seeks to force the renewal of terminated mining leases next to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
Twin Metals' lawsuit attempts to revive its rejected plan to build a dangerous sulfide-ore copper mine along rivers, lakes, and streams that flow directly into the Wilderness.
But we can't let that happen, so we took action. Northeastern Minnesotans for Wilderness - the Campaign to Save the Boundary Waters' lead organization - recently filed a motion to dismiss this federal lawsuit. But we can’t win this battle alone - we need your support.

It’s apparent that we must keep fighting back together because the Boundary Waters is under attack . Antofagasta’s Twin Metals can pour millions of dollars into sacrificing the Boundary Waters for its profit. But, with your support, we can win.
We are as fiercely committed to protecting this precious resource as we were ten years ago, when we first began organizing against the threat of sulfide-ore copper mining alongside the pristine waterways of the Wilderness. This work isn’t possible without you - thanks to the thousands of supporters from every state in the country that have joined the movement to protect the Boundary Waters forever .
Don’t wait to make a matched gift. 112 committed supporters have already donated and DOUBLED their impact thanks to a rare matching gift opportunity we have right now. You have the power to make a difference today.

P.S. Toxic mining has no place next to America's most visited Wilderness, and strong federal and state-level litigation is a key component of our strategy to protect the Boundary Waters forever . You can help by rushing a 2X gift today >>
